Daina Griffith is originally from Fairfield, Ohio and moved to Pittsburgh to attend Point Park University, where she received her BFA in Theatre. After graduation she lived in NYC for a few years and would frequently find herself back in the ‘Burgh for work.
When she decided to make Pittsburgh home again the film, television, commercial and theatre scene had grown, much to her delight.
She’s had featured roles in the films The Dark Knight Rises (Foley’s wife), Hollidaysburg (Angela) and Civilians (Tilly) and she’ll play Deb in the in the upcoming Pittsburgh Dad.
On television, she’s had featured roles in Munhall (television pilot starring George Wendt- Norm from “Cheers”), WGN’s new hit Outsiders (Ricki, recurring Season 1) and on the web series I’ll Call You (Christine).
Commercials include PA Lottery, Armstrong Cable, Xarelto and Exxon Gas, to name a few. She was also involved in STARZ The Chair a reality show which featured two directors using the same script to make two different movies.
A member of the actor’s unions for over ten years (AEA-joined 2003, SAG/AFTRA-joined 2005) she was honored to be named the Pittsburgh Post Gazette’s PERFORMER OF THE YEAR in 2013, and was nominated in 2015 for the prestigious Carol R. Brown Creative Achievement Award.
