How can I be an Actor or Extra with Nancy Mosser Casting?

Everyone should create an online profile, which is powered through Agency Pro Software, with us under the Talent Registration section. It is free unless you want to do the Activated account.

With the free profile, you will be able to upload 2 pictures of yourself. Make sure these pictures are a good representation of you. You should not submit pictures that are taken from far away or have you wearing a hat or sunglasses as these do not accurately portray how you look. Talent will need to type in their resume, contact information and sizes. Remember, You do NOT need to have an Activated status to be on file with us.

Actors: Like every other profession, acting is a job that requires knowledge, perseverance, and skill. Given the level of competition you'll encounter and the fact that the nuances demanded by each medium (film, commercial, voice over, theatre, etc.) are different, you need to continue to learn and grow, as a person and as an artist. Think about it...if you wanted to be a Pilot, you wouldn’t start by flying a plane.

Learning about acting can be done many different ways. Take classes and workshops, observe people, go to the theatre, rent movies, continue to hone your craft, and above all, realize that this is a business, so learn the market and plan an ongoing marketing strategy. Remember, a 3-hour workshop does not make you an actor.

Extras: Anyone can be an Extra! You do not need any previous experience. We cast people of all ages, ethnicities and sizes. We will call you if you are right for any projects we are casting.

What does it mean to be on file with Nancy Mosser Casting?

After you have created your online profile with us under the “Talent Registration” section, you are considered to be on file with us. Being on file with us means that you are officially registered to be considered for work in Entertainment media. Remember, we are NOT Talent Agents so we DO NOT represent talent. Talent are represented by Agents. Agents are the ones who will submit talent for auditions and earn commission from your work. As Casting Directors, we work for our clients, the Producers, Directors and Production companies who hire us, assisting them in finding the right talent for the job. A Production company is who actually hires you, not Nancy Mosser Casting so we are NEVER the Employer of Record

What is Agency Pro?

Agency Pro is a software company. We have purchased their software and use it to run our talent database.

How do you utilize Agency Pro to run your office?

Basically, there are 2 types of accounts with Agency Pro Software.

The first is an Un-Activated (free) profile:

Everyone must create a profile to be considered on file. The information is stored in our electronic database. The free online profile allows you to upload 2 pictures of yourself and type in your resume. You can do this from the convenience of your own home on your computer. You are responsible for maintaining your own information. This database is what we will be utilizing to contact talent for projects that we are working on, so it is important to make sure this information stays current. Your information in this in-house electronic database will only be accessible to you and our staff.

The second is an Activated profile which has a monthly fee paid to Agency Pro:

Talent with activated files have their own professional website that they can direct anyone to if they wish them to view it. In addition, those with active files can have up to 20 pictures, VO demos, and video clips. If you are interested in activating your account, contact Agency Pro at 1-866-444-1455. We do not have anything to do with the monetary side of Agency Pro. This is a service they provide to the talent.

Remember, no one is required to be “Active” status in order to be on file with us!

Being active is a personal decision to invest in the marketing opportunities the software offers. Again, it is your responsibility to make sure that all of your information in the database is current and updated regularly. But remember, Active or not, you are still in our electronic database where we can access your information.

If I go Active, does that mean I will get more work?

The way you get work in the business is through talent, dedication, hard work and luck. Being active on Agency Pro can open you up to more opportunities if you want to submit yourself, by way of your website, to be considered for outside projects to Casting Directors, Talent Agents, Directors or Producers. However, if you choose not to go active, we will still call you for auditions or projects that you fit the specifications for as we have done in the past.

What if I have a Talent Agent?

Being on Agency Pro will not affect the relationship any talent has with their agent. Make sure to include their information when you create your profile under the representation section.

I have an online profile created, why do I receive emails from you asking to Activate my account? Am I definitely on file with you?

Yes, you are on file with us. These emails come from Agency Pro and are sent as a reminder of the benefits of activating your account. They will keep you updated on occasional sales they are having. Again, you do NOT need to have Active status to remain on file with us...you can keep your profile free and we will still see all your info.
