Voice-Over Workshops with Jack Bailey

Introduction to Voice-Overs with Jack Bailey

Everything you need to know to get started in the voice-over industry. Designed as a Voice-Overview, this class will teach you the nuts and bolts of the business, as well as give you a chance to practice your readings while being recorded and directed by the instructor. Approximately half of each class will offer lecture and discussion on major facets of the industry, and the other half will be devoted to script reading and recording. Your best recorded takes will be posted online for you to review and download. Note, however, that you will not leave the workshop with a finished Voice-Over demo. Must be age 18 or older.

Schedule:

Six consecutive Thursday evenings: March 14, 21, 28; April 4, 11, 18.

7 PM – 10 PM

Location: Nancy Mosser Casting, Blackbird Studios 3583 Butler St. (left door), Lawrenceville 15201

Intermediate Voice-Over – Jack Bailey & Friends

In several ways, the Intermediate VO workshop represents a serious step ahead for aspiring voice-over artists. It’s designed for people who have had some acting training and/or VO experience, including (but not limited to) graduates of our Introduction to Voice-Overs course. We’ll dive deeper into major, complex aspects of the VO Biz.

– Targeting and developing your corner of the VO market
– Building and equipping a home studio
– Finding the right talent agent & VO coach for you
– The VO Demo – where, when, how much?
– Benefits of SAG-AFTRA membership
– Audiobook production, etc.

I’ll still direct, record, and play back your readings, and I’ll post your best takes to a website for your review.

Finally, we’re lining up some guest speakers from the professional VO community to share some inside information, experience, and advice with you. Must be age 18 or older.

Schedule:

Six consecutive Monday evenings: March 18, 25; April 1, 8, 15, 22.

7 PM – 10 PM

Location: Nancy Mosser Casting, Blackbird Studios 3583 Butler St. (left door), Lawrenceville 15201
